Gas Safety

At Assured Heating Essex Gas safety is of the upmost importance. We strive to adhere to all current Gas Safety regulations and keep both our ‘in-house’ and client based records up to date with any changes that may affect the work we do.

Due to us undertaking regular Gas Safety checks for our client’s, our Gas Safe engineers have to take part in numerous Gas Safety inspections by Gas Safe inspectors to ensure we are continually at the forefront of our industry by pioneering new and improved methodologies to deliver the very best results for any Gas Safety tests and Gas Safety checks we are part of.

Under the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998 act, landlords are required to ensure that the flues, gas appliances, gas fires and fittings are Gas Safe. If you are a landlord or the owner of a property then having an annual gas safety inspection of your gas appliances and central heating systems is a must. This means that gas appliances should be serviced according to the manufacturer’s guidelines, while any flues and pipework must be kept in a safe condition and inspected regularly. Having regular Gas Safety inspections will make sure that they are not dangerous to use.

The Gas Safe register

The Gas Safe Register is the official list of registered gas engineers who are able to work safely and legally on gas appliances. It is now a legal requirement for all gas engineers to be registered on the Gas Safe Register, which replaced the CORGI gas registration.

Our business registration number is 516184 and you can follow this link to check our credentials.

Only Gas Safe registered engineers are qualified and legally able to conduct installation, maintenance and safety checks.

Our engineers are all Gas Safe registered (previously known as Corgi Gas Safe fitters or Corgi registered engineers) meaning that our client’s can all rest assured they have gone through the relevant training and have the knowledge and experience to get the job one right first time round.

Gas Safety Risks & Dangers of Gas Work?

Dangerous gas work can be deadly for a number of reasons, which we believe our customers should be aware of to ensure the safety of their friends, family, work colleagues and anyone else who may enter into their home. For example badly fitted and poorly serviced appliances can cause the following gas safety risks:

Top Tips for Gas Safety

  1. Gas boiler
  2. Gas fire, gas cooker or hob
  3. Central heating system, radiators or your hot water system, if they are connected to either a Natural Gas or LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) supply.
All of our Gas Safe registered engineers carry a Gas Safe Register ID card. These cards contain their own unique license number showing the type of work they are qualified to do.
  1. Our Gas Safe registered engineers can carry out various Gas Safety tests and Gas Safety checks to make sure your appliances are operating safely.
  2. Should an appliance or pipework not have been installed correctly and therefore in an unsafe way, the engineer may not be able to rectify the situation immediately.  They will then follow the guidance outlined in the Gas Industry Unsafe Situations Procedure (GIUSP) to make the installation safe.  This is the industry-accepted document for guiding engineers on dealing with unsafe situations.
  3. These documents can be quite difficult to understand, which is why fact sheets were made available for download online to help people understand the procedure that engineers adhere to in order to assess the safety of your gas appliance and to rectify any problems safely.
