During the last comprehensive survey in 2004, only 7% of households did not have a radiator central heating system in place and that number has probably dropped further since then. While central heating installation is quite an investment, it’s also a must have for any comfortable home today.
For many, the first of October is “central heating day”, when many people switch on their radiators ready for the winter months. Up and down the country, radiators clank their way back to life after a summer of hibernation – and with energy bills soaring in recent years, and more people now aware of the environmental impact of energy consumption, many people make it a point of principle that their heating should stay off until the start of October. In which case, any nippy late September mornings may still have to be endured!
